I have a 2000 740il. It keeps giving me a code of po171 which says it is lean in bank one. lI'm look for the proceedure on how to repair the problem? Or if some knows what it will take to repair please email me back. Is it a sensor? Bad injector? Any help would be great.

I had this problem on my 330 after I installed my intake. Turns out the O2 sensor was in the wrong position after the installation and I had to "spin" the intake a little until I found the spot where it stopped tripping the sensor.
This may or may not help you but it may be a good place to start. Chances are the sensor could have gone bad. Try messing with, check that it's snuggly in place. Anything short of replacing it and I don't know how to see if it's bad or not. And if all else fails a dealership can always fix the problem.
