Curious what BMW stands for? check it out

I was curious what it stood for as I'm taking ED august 1st and thought I should get to know alittle more about the company I'm purchasing from. Check out this link as it explains how it started and got it's name. It is in a timeline, bullet format so pretty easy reading for your scholars! ) http://www.bmwgroup.com/e/nav/index....ome/home.shtml

hit company, then history, then milestones

There is a cool documentary on the company that pops up occasionally (Tivo catches it for me with my BMW wishlist). I think it shows up on Fine Living channel or TLC or History.

cool i'll set my tivo up for it, thanks for the tip, I still have more curiosity than answers and would like to be more educated on the history of the company ect... as buying a car north of 40 grand I want to be well versed in it's company and history

Multiple meanings, depending on where you are.

A person from Hong Kong told me that BMWs are a big thing in China. It's a giant status symbol, usually reserved for older more 'established' people. Meaning, that if you have one, then you are obviously successful. Which -seems to me- the status that Mercedes has in America (while BMW are for successful people who like to race.)

Anyways, in China, it means: (B)oss, (M)oney, (W)omen.
