What service score would you give?
Based on my experience below, what would you give the SA ?
I requested the following when I took my car for service: 1. Inspection I 2. Check radio display for fading in hot sun.
I got: 1. Inspection I 2. Brake flush 3. New in-dash CD unit 4. E46 325i loaner
Unfortunately when replacing the radio, they left several noticeable scratches on the climate control panel. I pointed that out to the SA and he will replace the climate control unit. I'll need to take the car back in a week or two to have them replace it. Everything else was satisfactory.
Ironically, they gave me a sheet of paper proclaiming their dedication to performing a service correctly the first time. I wasn't upset or anything, just surprised that no one would have brought it to the SA's attention.
So...... do I give the SA a '5' or a 'failing' grade. YOU MAKE THE CALL!

Next time...
The loaner saved their a$$es.

Sorry folks. Not sure if anyone is willing to give a 'failing' at this point.

(Unless of course, he was being a real pain or something, which is never the case)... 5's mean $$$ in his wallet, and we know that $$$ talk... IMO, it's better to give 5's to him and he will return the favor in better service... If you still feel that you received less than stellar service, tell the BMW person at the end of the call, after the 5's portion, what specific issues you had (scratches, etc.) because that reflects on the tech, dealer, what have you, not the SA. I have a good rapport with my SA, so this works for me...

We did that once, because of a very similar problem (hood was scratched during installation of, ironically, that clear film you put on the front to avoid dings from stones). The woman on the phone asked for an expected completion date and called back the day after the date we gave her.
We were able to truthfully give the SA 5's for the service that way.

Now if they jerk you around on you return trip, I would fry them. I agree that if you get the call, you let them know that the service isn't complete and call later. Also, I believe you can take the poll online. That way you just fill it out when the ordeal is over.
You didn't mention the brake flush. You didn't ask for it and they did it anyway...did you pay for it or did they try and make you pay for it? If they did try to make you pay, that would piss me off worse than anything else.
