Motor Trend just picked their car of the year award... the Toyota Camry  If by "car of the year" they mean "cheap 5-series immitation econobox that a lot of people bought cuz they don't know better and believe advertisement", then YAY!!!! Truly, truly pathetic. But the worst part was their prasing of the Camry Hybrid, a pointless car with mileage far inferior to any modern diesel engine. Go to hell Motor Trend. |

The current hybrid technology simply isnt, it is merely hype driven by the car companies to make you believe that they are GREEN and are helping to decrease reliance on foreign oil. It has been estimated that the price difference between the HY Camry and the DINO Camry far exceeds any savings (MPG) you will ever achieve over the life of the car .
The only true GREEN alternative technology is H2 powered vehicles.
Electricity generated from nuclear power is put in contact with water.
The water is cracked, donating free H2 and O2 gas for purified oxygen requirements (medical) and H2 for vehicle/home heating.
The product of combustion is H2O vapor.

I've never cared for MT's COTY award. The picked the Honda Civic (HAHA funny!) last year. While the new Camry might be decent in SE V6 form, Americans need to get over the hybrid-hype. At least there's always Jeremy Clarkson and his truthful opinions of hybrid versus diesel.
