Went out this morning to check on the tire pressures as a routine matter.
Good thing I did as the right rear was down to 16.5 psi. Yowsa, says I, that's pretty low considering all the others are within 1/2 psi of spec.
Well, sure enough, as I felt/looked around the tire surface there sticking out of the tread about 1/2" inside of the outer most tread is a nail head. Looks like a cut flooring nail as the head is square.
Well, I pumped it up, it seemed to hold air but as I did I noticed there was a distince "seam" in the side wall of the tire all the way around...ruh roh.
Anyways, I got down to the dealer and my SA worked me into the rotation without an appointment ( Fields BMW Winter Park Fl

). After unmounting the tire, SA indicated I needed a new one as the nail was cross wise in the sidewall and irreparable. At least it was N/C for the investigation.
Shucks.
And unfortunately since I bought the fronts and rears in two separate times last 6 months from our sponsor tirerack I did not have a tread/hazard warranty on the tires. Lesson learned there.

Drove home and ordered a single rear for *cough* $281 plus next day shipping.
Oh well.
