 XENONS: love or hate?

I'm wondering what people think about the Xenon headlights with autoleveling? Are they worth it? Why do you like them? Or are they mostly just a useless way to spend 700 bucks?

They are very much worth it. They illuminate the road better than regular halogen bulbs and are safer and don't blind people as much as halogen lights, plus they have that "cool" factor to them.

Besides, who spends $40k on a car and can't get one of the cheapest options next to heated seats (which are very recommended too)?

+1.

If I had the option on a new car purchase I would not hesitate to have them.

Yes, xenons are great - if you get only one option, it should be the xenons (okay, maybe the sport package).

They are very bright, never burn out, and illuminate a much larger area of the road ahead than halogens.

Also, every time I see a new BMW without xenons, I can't help but think that the owner can barely afford the car.

Sport package is a must too IMO.

Options in the "gotta have" order.

Sport Package
Xenons
Heated Seats
Premium Sound
Optional large wheels (19's)
Premium Package
Comfort Seats
Comfort Package (trunk/doors)
Sunshades (not avail. on all models)
Navigation

IMO this is a good list to go from, if you cant afford the next item on the list (from top to bottom) stop there and do not buy any more options.
