Its about that time here in CT to start getting my car ready to be put away for the winter. I have never had a car that I needed to store for the winter so my question is what should I do to get it ready? Ill have it parked in my garage until the spring time. Like I said I'm new to this so anything and everything would help.

I would say to:
1. Get a fresh engine oil/filter change 2. Fill up the fuel tank, adding fuel stabilizer to it. (very important) 3. Check your tire pressures 4. Wash and wax it 5. Clean and put leather preservative on you seats, if you have leather. 6. If you can find it, put some bags of desiccant, used for abosorbing moisture, inside on the vehicle floors, unless your garage is heated. Be sure the windows are closed. 6. Put a trickle charger on your battery. .

Dessicant is available at West Marine, Boat US or any marine center

Put a bunch of "glue-board" type mouse traps around the perimeter of the garage, and several under the car as well. Mice LOVE to nest in the engine compartment (and elsewhere on your vehicle) and will also chew up the wires.

I don't drive mine in bad weather or when the roads are crummy with snow, salt, cinders, etc. There are a lot of beautiful days during the winter months to take a drive without getting your car all dirty with that road crap in your area. IMO its better than storing it all winter with all the preparations you have to do if you can get away with it. cheers vern
