Practicality of the Roadster
I'm going to be living in Seattle where it rains quite a bit. However, snow/ice is rare (with the exception of the last 2 weeks!! ). So question is, how practical is a roadster, given that I'm not married, no kids. If i get the M roadster, will i miss the trunk space, and the back 2 seats, as compared to the 335i? For those who own roadsters, how often do u wish you had more space/seating? Also, how often is your top down? is it practical? can you share the 'unique' experience of driving with the top down, that makes convertibles .. "IT".? obviously i've never owned a convertible, so i wouldn't know. thanks all. | | Reply » Practicality of the Roadster | Get the coupe, it's better for your situation if its an only car. Usually 'verts are weekend cars.

When I had my 330 vert, I thought I would love it. Than I realized with the top down listening to the radio, talking with passengers, and road grime getting on me and my interior was not ideal. You would give up a lot to have a roof you will rarely open. The hardtops coming out may be better. I would not have a vert again as my only car but I do like them on occasion.

I do put it up when it's raining and I'm driving slower than 40 or for long highway stretches
the trunkspace and seating would be no issue for a daily driver though

If you need to haul something, recruit a friend with a truck (everyone seems to have one these days).
Some day, you'll find a woman and she'll kill every bit of fun in your life. You won't even want a roadster anymore. You'll never know what you missed out on. Trust me, it's happened to all my friends.
Bonus: When you go out with a bunch of friends, you NEVER have to drive. This is assuming you still have friends that aren't married and still leave the house to go somewhere other than Home Depot.
...and yes, I am quite bitter, thank you very much.
