 2007 335i Questions

I got my 335i in September and after driving it for a few months i have some questions that hopefully someone out there can help me answer.

1)when i start up the car, it takes a few minutes for the iDrive system to kick in, the "Ti" symbol in the Nav screen doesnt start up right away. Anyone else have that issue?

2)When i first entered a Cd into the cd slot it asked me if the disk was a CD or a DVD, i chose CD. I took it out, entered a DVD but didnt get that promt. Does that mean that this system is capable of playing a DVD?

3)Anyone know of any websites that sell floor mats for the 2007 335i?

Thanks,
jv

1. I can't answer your question - my navigation some time need 20-30 sec to boot, and another time it's on as soon I start engine.
2. You can make DVD MP3 disk in play this disk in DVD player (used by Navigation disk). So, yes, you have to eject navigation and insert your DVD MP3 disk. Or you can make CD MP3 disk and have a 740MB of your favorite songs.
3. Pacific BMW in Glendale, CA had a good price for floor mats.

Not sure if you have done this yet but try unlocking the car from as far as possible so that the car is *awake* and the iDrive Screen should boot up quicker.

Well the car is kept in the garage so its not locked. At times is takes a few seconds and other times a few minutes. It gets annoying at times.

Also, is the software for the Nav, iDrive ever updated with patches or version updates?

In my case I think it is the time it takes to transmit my address book via bluetooth from my phone. Once this is done, the system seems to be very responsive.

A good experiment would be to turn BT off on your phone and seeing if the boot up is any quicker.
