Someone Know About Swap Engines?

For one, the 2000 528i has a mechanical throttle linkage. In 2001, they switched to a drive-by-wire (electronic) throttle - if it's even possible to make the switch, it will require a lot of new electronics and be very expensive - the DBW throttle is linked into the cruise control, ABS, stability control, traction control, etc.
You would be better off selling your free 3-liter engine to someone else, and buying yourself a used 2.8-liter engine with the proceeds.
