 Sticky Pedal?

Anyone here have a sort of "sticky" pedal? My pedal is not smooth to go down but comes back up fine, its just you have to press harder to get it to move than you would normally and it feels "notched", I guess.

I was going to post this in the 7 series forum, but every BMW has the same pedal assembly.

You may have a loose bracket or just worn out parts. Have you tried spraying any lube up there?

Yes, there isn't really anything to lube up. I think there is a mechanism on the inside of the pedal but I can't get to it because it's covered up. Should I just have the BMW place take a look at it or is there a way I can fix it for a lot less?

I had this problem on my '01 325i back when I'd gathered about 30k miles. I took it to the dealer and they replaced the whole assembly under warranty and 70k+ miles later, it still works beautifully. Not sure if it would apply to your car, but I think mine was replaced under a technical service bulletin.

Best of luck!

I found something on the 325i and it has the exact problem I described. I'll have to see if BMW will replace my pedal for free.

Problem Story

(yes, my car was made before 06/02 )
