Ok, so I'm not the MOST computer literate person in the world, but I can usually follow directions very well.
My problem: I figured out how to get a copy of the 2007.1 DVD map release. I downloaded it, but now I don't know how to burn it to a DVD. I have only tried directly burning the ISO file to a dvd, but that didn't seem to work when I tried it.
I have searched from all ends of the internet for answers to this question and have not found anything so far, so I figured I'd resort to asking it on this forum. Please let me know if anyone has suggestions.

You'll read threads elsewhere saying to burn at a particular speed, use only one specific brand of media, etc.
I used to make a backup copy of my official NavTeq DVD and keep the original in the case at home and run the copy in the car, but I gave up and now put the copy in the case at home and use the original in the car.
Having said all that, your best bet is to use something like the free ImgBurn software: http://www.imgburn.com

Yup use imgburn to make your umm...back up copy
Also use a good quality disk. I used a Memorex DVD+R without any probs whatsoever.
Put the blank in your PC drive, fire up imgburn, select the iso file and burn.
