So we decided we are going to replace our Explorer with something new, and I need you help! I have been looking at CPO 2004-2006 BMW X5 3.0s and CPO 2004-2006 and brand new Porsche Cayenne V6 Tiptronics.
Please, help me decide which car we should purchase. I'm leaning towards the Cayenne (Brand new), because dealerships are discounting like crazy because of the upcoming model. (Redesigned vehicle is launched in February)
Thanks guys!

Get an '04 X5 4.4i non-CPO with a factory 6/100 warranty off of eBay or auto trader.
Cayenne V6 is extremely slow, I bet I could out run it on my pedal bike and they have a lot of problems. X5 3.0i is almost as slow but more reliable.

They have a 6/100 factory warranty? I've never heard of that before.

Thanks guys! | I have always admired the Porsche's but never test drove one, so I don't know what to say. I love the way the X5's look. You can't go wrong with a BMW. The X5's are really nice, but then again you could get a brand new Porsche. I think you should probably go out and test drive several different X5's and Cayenne's and tell us what you think.

Yeah...I totally agree...The 4.4i is the way to go. The V6 Cayenne is underpowered and you mostly see wanna-be Porsche trophey-wifes driving those...Sorry but it's true. You get the Porsche prestege but the car itself dosn't live up to Porsche performance expectations. The 3.0i isn't much better; I'm not a big fan of it and honestly...I would pick the new Cayenne over it. Tell us what you pick and post pictures....

Get a 2007 Toyota Rav4. Less than $30K. Excellent power with the V6. Toyota reliability and resale value. Good MPG - 21 city / 27 hwy. And you can get a 3rd that fits midgets (incase you have any midget friends!).
