BMW teaser unveils enigmatic do-it-all device
Does anyone know anything about this upcoming BMW product? I read this post over at Engadget and my curiosity is driving me crazy. Surely someone here at bimmerfest has some insight....right? http://wireless.engadget.com/2007/01...it-all-device/ I personally can't imaging BMW launching some new consumer electronics device but I wonder if this is somehow related to a new vehicle launch?

All the features they advertise - USB, Bluetooth, navigation, MP3 playing, 65,000-color screen, etc. are all things that BMW's do already - except for 'recharges itself'.
Those things they pictured are all computer renderings. If this was going to be a real, non-automotive device, they'd have something real to show pictures of.

And yes, they do recharge themselves, that's what the alternator is for.
The only BMW that does USB interface to my knowledge is the new X5.

I'm just wondering what car it is. I was also wondering if this would just be a new announcement of some "capability" soon to be offered in their lineup. Some new iPod or USB interface with video support, etc....an autopilot feature with built in heads-up video game system so we can play video games while driving on those long, boring interstate highways. (ok, ok, I'm pushing it).
