Reliability
I have more than 150k miles on my Toyota Sienna XLE, Acura Integra GSR and Nissan Pathfiner XE with no major problems(knock on wood). And it's time for a new car.
Can I expect the same with a BMW? I'm thinking of getting a BMW within a month and still debating about the run flat tires, cost of maintenance, price of vehicle, options and most of all, reliability.

You cannot even expect it with Lexus, Mercedes Benz, or any other premium car. Once you step into premium cars with navigation, blue tooth, performance suspension/engines/transmissions, airbags out the whazoo, central computer systems, active headlights, head up display, self parking, etc., etc., etc. you can expect more issues. Complexity adds problems. However, that is not to say you will be stranded. But folks need to be realistic. If you do want issues stick with simple reliable cars without all the wizardry. If a trip to the dealer every once in a while to repair something is no big deal to you, then most likely you will be content with a premium car. But you will have issues regardless of what you buy. I am on my 5th BMW. I have been in accidents in the past, but never in a BMW (thankfully). I attribute the superior handling and safety systems to the accident avoidance equation. You will find the insurance ona $50k BMW is equivalent to an Acura Integra/RSX.

I assume that by "trip to the dealer once in a while" will very likely be some electrical problem that does not interfere with the ability of the car in getting from point A to point B?

Most folks on the board go in for a rattle, or some light displaying on the dash. I think 99% of the issues still allow the car to be driven.
