What formula do people use for depreciation. Eg, I have the invoice price from a used vehicle (CPO). How do I calculate its current value (taking both age and mileage into consideration).
Thanks all!

NADA black book

Thanks, I've read on the boards that the books are inaccurate. I'll look again. I have the original invoice price, but not sure how to adjust for years and mileage.
If you think that NADA is accurate, I'll use that.
Thanks again.

NADA is crap ..
IF you can get a hold of a Black Book (used mostly in the South) , you can use that to get an approximate idea, or if you can get a copy of the MMR (manheim market report) for your car, you could use that.
Of course, in the end it is worth what you are willing to pay. I would just look at ebay, etc and see what comparable models are selling for..

Actually the best way is to get a friend in the business to call around wholesalers and ask them.

I'm A Total Loss Insurance Adjuster. Nada And Kbb Are Crap. It's Actually Illegal For Us To Use Them. My Suggestion Is To Look Up Autotradder And Calculate An Average Based On The Vehicles Most Similar To Yours, Eg Year, Mileage, Options. And Don't Count Upgrades. They Are Normally A Wash Unless They Are Dealer Upgrades.
