Advise for the Perf Center Delivery
Hey..
I just bought a new BMW 328i and am taking delivery on 02/02. I was wondering if any of you could help me out with the following:
1) specific route you recommend for a drive to Chicago, IL.
2) Any local attractions in the area you recommend?
3) How is the biltmore estate?
4) carpet mats or rubber mats?
5) Is the clear bra worth it - or an alternative..
6) Radar detector - which one? i hear you can integrate with idrive..??
7) ANY thing else you think is important!
FYI: This is my FIRST car so I am what you might call a NOOB... your help is much appreciated...
Thanks. Manxs

Thanks. Manxs | 1) Quickest way? I-26 to I-40 West to Knoxville, I-75 north to Cincinnati, I-74 west to Indianapolis, I-65 North to Chicago. About 11-12 hours of actual driving time. Simple way? I-40 West to Nashville, I-65 North to Chicago.
Scenic route? Lots of them, but with a 12 hour drive, will you have the time?
2) Not much in area besides the BMW plant. Smoky Mountains on the way back, if you like.
3) Biltmore is worth the trip.. Only a couple hours from Spartanburg, and on your way home.
4) Carpet.. only get rubber for winter, if needed
5) Not to me, but I'm not anal about rock chips (I lease..lol)
6) No info on detectors..

There are many scenic places around the Western Carolinas, but almost all of them are warm weather type places. It is going to be cold(for Carolina) with rain and maybe even ice on 2-1-07, but still cold this weekend, so that will not work. Biltmore House is worth a visit. It is literally a castle with fantastic views of the Blue Ridge. There are many, many things to do in Nashville if you could work it out to stop there for the night on the way home. Just a couple off the top of my head, The Grand Old Opry, the Wild Horse, The Opryland Hotel and The Preditors tickets are easy to get,if they are at home. Also if you are into History the Stones River Battlefield is close. Enjoy our part of the country.
