 Non RF tire debate

Ok. I have finally chosen what I want to do with my wheels. I am going for the CSL replicas from Modbargians. The only problem is the tire setup. The tires I will be getting are All Season Performance Tires that are non-RF. I realize RF technology is fairly new, and will probably become more readily available as time goes on.

I do a lot of highway driving, and I would hate to get stuck with a flat and no way to fix it. I know its not the ideal situation, but I was thinking about keeping a can of fix-a-flat in the car so that if something were to happen, I could atleast get the car to a tire shop for it to be fixed.

Am I taking too much of a chance by doing this? I wish there was a more safe alternative, but it doesnt look like thats the case....

GO FOR IT!
thats the best thing said yet in this forum about non-runflats.
I got my staggered Michelins Pilots Sports, and I find myself sneaking out at night just to drive these tires. I have no complaints, smooth, better handling than those teflon tires. lolz. you will see a difference, PM me if you want to drive the difference, better yet I will see you at Great Falls on Oct 22, for somesort of a bimmer fest event. I'm expecting more news about it, I'll fwd it to you!

To modify that storage area below the trunk bed to accomodate a spare.
If so I would do it.

I was at the dealer last month and watched a guy buy a spare and strap it in the trunk of his the E90. Runflat or not, nothing gives the security of a real spare. It sucks the spot that usually holds a spare in the E90 looks like a drug smuggling compartment.

I will be attending the DC meet. I put up a link in the local forum, but no replies. I dont think Ill have my CSL Reps by then, but it looks like Im running a setup very similar to yours right now. So you got rid of your RF tires or no? I might have to drive it to see the difference.

I wish I could use that spot for a space saver spare. Even if that would only get me so far, it would do exactly that...
