Performance Center Question
Hi everyone, I'm pretty new to this board and since ordering my first BMW last month I have been elightened by all you fine people. This board has really helped me make up my indecisive mind on a bunch of issues. So thanks!  Anyway I am seriously thinking about doing a performance center delivery. Does anyone know if the driving course they give you counts toward a break in insurance? If so, what insurance recognizes it? Thanks, Mike | | Reply » Performance Center Question |
Im not sure about the one you are talking about. But here in Va ,Geico, or maybe others too, gives you discount on your policy, I measley $18 per 6 mo. period. The courses they honor are only the ones certified by DMV, and the course provides you +5 point in your driving records.
I doubt any other ones are valid, especially the ones you may be talking about. If Im not mistaken the course you are mentioning teaches you car handling, while the ones Im mentioning about deals with safety, defensive and other driving issues (DWi-DUI) that more related in obeying traffic laws.

I have taken delivery at the Performance Center and loved it! The chances of your insurance company giving you a discount for that is virtually nonexistant as it is not a 'defensive driving' course. Instead it is geared more toward exploring the limits of your new car. Best way is to call and ask!
