No. Thatīs just camouflage (orange tape). They did that on the sedan while protoytpe testing too.

Can anyone tell if that's US track or German track? Does BMW ever test cars like that in US? Would love to take my telephoto lens to get spyshots what a job

Thatīs the legendary Nürburgring. About 100miles from where I live. If you have an appetite for exotica and prototypes, thatīs the place to be. But since everybody knows that, the cars are heavily camouflaged unless they are very close to public release.
