I have 10,550 miles on my car and the "service" indicator that shows the miles until service still reads 10,000!!!! Do I have to wait until it get to 0 before my first oil change or do i take it in at 15,000??

It just means you're not driving it hard enough.
Drive it like you stole it and hit redline every once in a while, and you'll see the service indicator count down much faster!

Although the E90 computer says change the oil at 15k or so, the mechanic who I rely on and trust says do it at 5k. Even though you have to pay for the oil change as it will not be part of the maintenance schedule, in the long run oil is cheaper than parts.

That car STILL says 10,000 miles....hasn't budged in a week. Drove 834 miles and it didn't budge!
