I have read a few threads about different e92 versions. Does anyone have solid information (with sources) about the versions that will be offered?
My info here is from a local dealer so please don't put too much faith in it.
I have read on forums (http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/sho...&highlight=335) about a 335i coming out after the 325 & 330 coupes but before the M3. It is supposed to be a turbo charged 3 that falls between the 330 and the M3. Does anyone have solid info on this? Also, would there be a 335ci coupe to go with the 335i sedan?
A local dealer told me there will soon (dec 05) be a performance package option that will increase the HP of the vehicle (possibly by 70 horses or more) and come with different skirts for the front and rear. This option will be available for all 3 series (sedans now, coupes when released) and will be focused around the engine performance. The sport option will still be available separately as that package is focused on handling. Has anyone heard the same from their dealers?
I don't see how the forums 335 claims and my dealers performance claims can both be true. Why would BMW make a 330 with a performance package and a 335? The two vehicles would be so close in specs they would almost be the same car.
I hope someone has better sources than mine and can shed some light on this for me. Thanks.

As usual the dealer is full of it.
A 70hp power hike on a NA engine is not possible. Only with a super- or turbocharger. And thatīs the 335i. (Actually twin-turbo). Itīs not a performance package but a seperate model.
As for packages, in Europe the so called "M"-package is now available which includes an areo kit (ugly IMHO), M-suspension, sports seats, M-steering wheel and shifter and some other sports-oriented trim bits (different cloths for the seats (alcantara) etc.) If and when thatīll come to the US is not known yet.
Just ignore everything any dealer ever says. The onyl conversation with dealers should be: "Hereīs the model and the list of options I want (order codes if you can): How much?"
Never ever try to get info from dealers about upcoming models and equipment. They really donīt know (theyīre kept even more in the dark than we are, at least we know how to surf the net) and theyīll be happy to tell you complete nonsense if they think itīll help them shift one car more sooner from their lot.
The 335 is quite certain to come. but wether itīll come to the US, only BMW nows (and maybe even they havenīt decided). Expect the 335i to be a twin-turbo with 300-330 hp and sedan and coupe form. Maybe even convertible.
Nothing substantial about release dates yet, but several highly developed protoypes have been spotted. So something like 6-12 months from now seems likely
