 Getting a new engine!

BMW finally stopped bsing about my oil problem. "A quart of oil every 700 miles is normal in our vehicles, sir".
Well, last month my oil consumption hit above even that, and I called to tell them to take another look.
Got a call today, and they're giving me a new engine! It's being shipped here from Germany, and as soon as it arrives they will call me in. And I'll get a loaner while they're putting the new engine in.
Hopefully this will finally fix the problem! So excited... :-)
Hmmm since this engine is leaving anyways, maybe it's time to push it the next week

Glad to hear it! I knew that engine was FUBAR! Hopefully they do a good job with the install.... I am sure they will. Are you still dealing with Hudson Valley? Best of luck! Oh and beat the loaner for the heck of it!

And make sure you don't forget to tell BMW NA that you would be a willing beta tester for the bi-turbo unit!

Yep, still BMW of the Hudson Valley... The funny thing is, I didn't even bitch. I was told that one of their techs just got back from training in Germany and this oil consumption in E90 was one of the issues they were discussing. Apparently I am not the only one in the US suffering from this problem, although I am the only one at this dealership. (Or the only one to realize the problem anyways)
In any case, the engine's on its way... bad thing is I have to endure the break-in period again.

will this be a wide spread problem in the e90? anybody on this board experiencing this?
