 Bluetooth Compatability - Motorola Rokr

Is the new Motorola Rokr phone compatible with BMW's Bluetooth system? I currently have a Motorola V710 which I know will work, but I am considering getting the new Rokr if it will work in my soon to be delivered 330i.

Best way to find out is to test it with the car. Take the 330i to a Cingular dealer and pair it.

True, but then I have to wait until I get the car to get the phone. I'm doing ED and picking up my car next Thursday in Munich. By the time the car is redelivered, it will be early November (if I'm lucky). I was hoping to get the phone sooner than that.

Well, if you can return it, take the ROKR and your existing mobile with you for E.D. That way you'll have a backup. I always travel with several mobiles anyway.

Why do you want that phone? It is not getting good reviews and it only holds 100 songsat poor quality? by a real ipod if you do not already have one and keep your phone and save some money, or get a smart phone with MP3 capability. Just my .02.... samsung had a phone 5 years ago called the roar that was a flop with the same features as this new phone minus the bluetooth. Good luck!

I have long since given up trying to convince people about "good" v. "bad" mobiles. Just like every other hybrid or multi function device, this one is full of compromises. Apple took this long to get a mobile out onto the market because it required an education on the economics of the mobile operator system v. the consumer electronics market.

Your points are spot on - I just feel badly for the poor people who will buy the ROKR expecting it to be something it simply cannot be.
