(VA) What are the State Rules.
I alway wanted to get tints for my car, but I cant seem to find the right shade. ... I wanted the very lightness tint as possible, just to have a hint of gray or any other color.
1. What is the state restriction in Virginia. or any other states to help other forum members
2. What are the different types or brands? which one is the best, in term of not bubbling up to discolor. or peel?
3. Are they ez to install or just have shops to it? w/c name shops are the know best in this field?
4. Can it be removed after i get tired of them? does it leave marks? if so how can it be removed?
the reason i wanted it in the lightness tint is to have people still see me in the car, why not its a bimmer!

tints in va is 35% sides and back.
depends where you get em tinted. i know a person who tints in vienna, names josh. lightest he can do is 50%.
tinting requires some skills. let the shops do em. they are easy to remove, but usually requires a shop to remove it.

50% up front, 35% back and sides is the law in VA. I've done 35% all around on a dark blue car and had no problems. You'll get no receipts and no warranty from your tint shop if they will do darker than legal tints.
Don't get the reflective tint, cops look for that more.
If you can find a shade that looks closest to OEM, do it, less chance of a cop pulling you for a tint check.
Llumar is a GREAT brand to go with. If you find a shop using that, they probably also do tinting for professional buildings and homes. They should be doing quality work.
To take tint off, get a handheld steamer, run that along the tint and start pulling. It works great, and is less messy than a razor, which most shops will use if they are in a hurry.
