I am a BMW newbie, expecting my first bimmer, a 2006 330xi, sometime after October 14. I decided against the iDrive b/c I find it functionally excessive and aesthetically displeasing.
However, the E90 owner’s manual describes initializing the flat tire monitor (FTM) only by using the iDrive. I seem to recall that the later E46 models had a button for FTM initialization. Such button is not described in the E90 manual.
How does one initialize the FTM in an E90 without the iDrive?

Sounds like it might be functionally helpful, eh? How are you ever going to vary the heating zones in your seats without it?
Let me go out on a limb and guess that you did not get Comfort Access...

"Vary the heating zones" Like I said - functionally excessive
... and, no, I opted against comfort access.

You can check it on one of your stalks to the left of your steering wheel. It allows you to circulate through all of the check controls
