Can I get a better deal than this???
So Im stuck in Iraq.....
Ive been looking at the Bimmerfest E90 Boards for quite some time, pondering whether to buy one when I get back, or to wait a little while longer before purchasing (mid 2007). Then I notice that Superior Motors and Pentagon car sales offer "special rates" to deployed military. The prices are as follows:
MSRP 325i- $30,900 + $695 desination charge MSP 325i- $27,100 + $2,150 destination/importation charge
MSRP 325xi- $32,800 + $695 destination charge MSP 325xi- $28,700 + $2,150 destination/importation charge
All other options and packages are the same, and the price is non negotiable. Overall, I save $2,345 off MSRP for the 325i and 2,$645 off MSRP for the 325xi. savings with 330i/xi are similar at $2,845 off MSRP for 330i and $3,145 off MSRP for 330xi.
My final question is: can I get a better deal from the dealer, or is this a pretty damn good offer? The price of the BMW+ $2,150 would be the out the door cost from the dealer, sales tax and registration notwithstanding.

Another thing to consider, unless the rules have changes since I was in the Navy, you get your purchase tax free by being deployed. I negotiated with every dealer within a 300 mile radius and the best I was able to do was a grand off of list. I've read that other have done much better, but it seems the majority get $500-$1000 of MSRP.

I'm getting the 330, Jet, 6sp, ZPP, ZSP, Nav, PDC, and Sirius for 41,145 out the door + taxes. I did the math and figured this to be about $400 above invoice pricing. From what i'm reading on this board and others as well, a good deal is getting $1500 above invoice. $400 above invoice is unheard of. If you get a bare bones car then you really save. Adding the options at MSRP is what makes the price go up, but you still save substantially. As for the sales tax, some states like Texas will waive the sales tax but a lot will still make you pay the sales tax upon registration. I've found that most states will still get you for sales tax when you register, even if you were deployed. I'm going to go with Superior motors, I recently went to Bahrain to visit the office and take the E90 for a test drive. The sales staff there is outstanding and they will do all the work over email. I have heard one or two horror stories about PCS, things like the dealer messing up orders that cause really long delays on production. Paul Magill at Superior is great.
