I don't think you'll be able to tell much from a photo. The leatherette looks like leather. But sit in it and you'll notice the difference.

You'll see people swearing by the leatherette, and not just from a cost-savings standpoint. They'll swear they prefer it, and I believe them. I don't agree, of course, but that's a matter of personal taste.

I ordered mine with leather, but I'll tell ya... the leatherette is nice! My Audi has leatherette that pretty much screams, "vinyl!" (which is of course what it is), but in the 330i that I test drove, the leatherette felt supple and very similar to real leather. Now, would you call it "high grade vinyl" or "an excellent synthetic reproduction uncannily similar to actual leather", I do not know. I guess whoever coined the term "leatherette" was right on the money.

Leatherette looks really good on this car, I couldn't really even tell the difference until I drove one of each. It might work O.K. where your at, but in S. TX it didn't cut it for me. Even during a short drive with AC running my back started to sweat and it just felt sticky.
