I have not seen very many women driving E90's and was wondering what is the proportion of men vs. women owners (or soon to be owners)?

Hate to say this, but your results won't be very useful. They'll be skewed by one variable you cannot control: the proportion of men vs. women who decide to participate in these kinds of fora. The data you hope to gather will reflect that proportion--and should already be available from the Administrator(s). (IIRC, gender was one of the questions asked when registering.)
During the 1932 Presidential Election, Republicans' hopes were buoyed by a telephone poll inidcating that voters supported Herbert Hoover. But who owned phones in 1932? People with money, who overwhelmingly did not support FDR. The poll data were useless because the sampling didn't reflect the voting population. If you didn't have money (many in 1932), you probably didn't have a phone, and probably supported FDR.
If this board's population skews to one gender or another, so should the poll results. Therefore, the data are already available--but to what use?

You brought up a really good point about collecting data. I am in the midst of a stat class, so before posting I was aware that the data would limited in its accuracy. I guess I should have titled the post "How many bimmerfest men or women own E90's?"
I looked on the member page and I didn't see a way to tell members gender....have you found a way to view this data and to tell if they are E90's owners? I probably could ask the Admins if they could report on it for me..but that wouldn't be any fun

i guess i wouldnt know, I guest the poll question maybe/should be:
If you own a E90, are you ?
0-male
0-female
but of crse that is not conclusive, since your sampling is base on this site visits, but I believe more men. havent seen any woman yet on a E90 drivers seat.
