What is the fine print on the insurance contract? does it require use of a specific tire? normal wear and tear? My guess is it has lots of extra-small font legalese that doesn't look so nice.

I got it as well.. $399 also... no wear and tear.. "road hazard" only.. ANY tire that is damaged while mounted on the car.. $4000 max... no max number of occurances.. and there is a minumun thread depth, but it was reasonable

You can gauge the value of the insurance by how hard they sell it to you. To me a high pressure sale meant a high profit for the dealer. I passed..

I wish I had the Tire insurance. A few weeks ago while I was out of town, one of my tires got a rip in the sidewall which cost me $390 to replace it at a Dealer. That's the cost of the whole 5-year tire insurance right there.
