Debating on comfort access...
Ok, so I understand how comfort access works to get in, start, etc but what about when you leave the car? Do the doors just automatically lock when the key is away from the car? Anyway: $500 (plus tax) seems kinda steep for this option but I'm a gadget guy and it would be kinda cool. For a couple hundred bucks its a no brainer, but for $530 out of my pocket not so sure. My car is 330i, manual, silver, black leather, heated seats, sport so I went for the "must have" options (i-drive would have been cool but not for $2000). Also, I could have the premium pack added for $500 vs. the comfort access. Anyway: just looking for opinions, I'm sure everybody else had to think about this too | | Reply » Debating on comfort access... | i think idrive+ NAV is worth it. The dash looks much cooler, otherwise I think it looks crappy. Also comfort access is good, its worth for 500$ since in other models and makes this option is more expensive, so comparatively 500$ is cheap. just my opinion.

As a gadget guy myself I would have got it, but my car was per September
However, I would go for the premium package first.. If you are spending $500 for a gadget anyway I would say blue tooth gets a higher priority, and the universal transverse.
The practical side for the CA would be more for my wife who would keep the key fob in her bag and don't have to look for it every time. Since I don't carry any other keys beside my car key, I would get it just for the coolness factor...
Oh.. and i totally second the previous post about the Navi... Big part of its value is in the look of the dashboard and how the double wave vs the single wave look
My 2 cents...

Anyway: just looking for opinions, I'm sure everybody else had to think about this too | there are 3 grooves on the top of the handle. you touch them for 2 sec and the doors will lock. I don't know if they will lock automatically. You may be able to program it if you have i-drive.
Brings me to my next point. if you are a gadget guy like me, the ability to program various button on your steering wheel as well as other options (auto lock doors after 5 mph, duration of angel eyes on after you leave your car, etc.) through i-drive is worth the money.
There is a video on e90post of comfort access.

My 2 cents... | I did the options backwards. Started with everything and figured out what I don't want (such as active steering and the radar cruise control). I guess I ended up with everything else, including Comfort Access and Nav/iDrive.
