 Should the steering wheel shake?

I just picked up my new 325 and the steering wheel seemed to shake a bit while driving on non-highway roads. Having just traded in an SUV (a Ford at that), I thought this could be due to the sportier performance handling or perhaps the breaking in period. Or Miami's awful roads. It's very minor, and not constant, but enough that I want to make sure it's normal. Anyone have any similar experiences?

Simply put, no.

How many miles on it? Tires might need balancing for starters, if not done correctly at the factory or something changed in transport.

It only had 3 miles on it when I picked it up. Didn't notice anything until after 15 miles or so. Hmm. Not sure if I'm just not used to the wheels gripping the road more than my clumsy SUV, or if something's not right.

I noticed the same thing when I first took delivery. Check the tire pressure. I found a posting on this forum that said they increase tire pressure for the boat trip over and often forget to adjust it (lower) before a Customer takes delivery. Sure enough when I checked my tire pressure I found that it was much higher than it should have been.

If it's a question of tires needing balancing usually you'll feel that only at certain speeds and it will be somewhat noticeable in the wheel.

If you couldn't use the word "shake" to describe it, how would you?

I haven't noticed it shaking much since, but if I had to describe it in other words, I guess I would say that it's a bit bumpy. It's not really vibrating, but I can see my hands slightly shaking while holding the wheel from time to time.

Again, it's not constant, and it's very minor, so it might just be the bad Miami roads or me adjusting to a performance vehicle.

However, I think I will check my tire pressure to see if that might be the case...
