I underatand that each vehicle has a damage report prepared at the VPC, See www.offworld.com/e46/damage_report.jpg
Has anyone asked to see this report, particularly in light of the problems bmw had back in the 1990s with BMW v Gore and the body repainting that was done without disclosure.
Also, does BMW currently use cosmoline on cars that come from Germany or do they put them in protective wrapping or what if anything is done?
Thanks

There's a coat of special hard wax that's put on each car before they loaded on the ship to come here. They then melt the wax at VPC.

There is a special "car wash" at the VPC that the cars go through after coming off of the ship. This "car wash" strips off and recovers the cosmoline. The VPC does quite a bit of work before the cars are trucked (via an enclosed trailer) to your local dealer.
