I'm debating between the two.
325ci Pros
Much prefer a coupe
It has aluminum trim - prefer it greatly
325i Pros
basically an E46 330i in terms of performance
New body style - won't look old after 3 yrs.
What would you do?

I'd get the E90... which I did. Same debate, but decided that the new features of the E90 were well worth it. Plus with a little extra cash up from the Ci you could get the 330i E90 which would be a whole-lotta-power beyond the E46 325.
Also you can get aluminum trim in the E90 and I think if i was that bent on getting a coupe - I'd just wait the year for the E90 version to come out.

That being said, I'd take the E90 if I were in your shoes. And it's available with aluminum trim also.

But the 325i/ci has closed that gap significantly with the E90 325 now using a 3.0l I6. The E46 325i is a different driving experience than an E90 325i.
I debated the same for a while... E46 325ci vs. E90 325i.
I just thought that the E46 would feel really outdated in only a year or two. I plan on owning this car for a while, and if it feels outdated that early, thats not a good sign...

What would you do? | E90. More and newer features, and won't look dated in a few years (not that the E46 isn't beautiful, but as new models come out - with some glaring exceptions of course - the newer model looks, well, newer).

I think the E90 is a better car hands down. However, in several months we are likely to see fairly aggressive incentives on the E46 coupe (similar to the sedan in early 05).
