Hi Trying to order a car via a kind of detached online system, and I want to do it today if possible. Does anyone know how the (European if it matters) standard seats compare to the sports seats? I want some that hug pretty closely as I've just got used to them in my last 2 cars and don't want to have to hold onto the wheel if taking corners a tad enthusiastically. Do I have to get the sports ones for that? A pic of both would be great if anyone has one? |

The sports seats have greater side bolster depth and (new feature) variable width which is adjusted electrically, extendable under thigh pad and tilt function (stepped - not infinite)- all above the standard chairs.
The standard seats have adequate side bolstering for all but track work! You certainly wont fall out of them!
I have sports seats on my E46 but have opted for standard on my E91 touring as I found them very comfortable and supportive.

Interesting.
What happens when you get electric/driver memory seats?
Does that conflict or enhance the sports ones?
I'm getting a touring too and maybe the standard ones are going to be plenty good enough. I certainly need driver memory as I can't get in the current car once my wife's driven it.
And since I've talked myself into the 162 alloys, I need to shave off a few quid somewhere

BTW, I thought I was the one who convinced you on Styling 162 wheels.

Indeed it was you swine
But there's got to be a reason all the cars in the brochure photos are shod with those wheels.
Thanks for the advice guys. Ordered it. Sports Seats included. What the hell, they're only £8 a month, it would be rude not to.
