August '05 3 Series Sales Report

Total 3 Series sales were up 8.8% this month when compared to last August. Sales of the new E90 3 Series continued to do well as the new E90s comprised 78.5% of this month’s total sales. In spite of the success of the new 3 Series model YTD sales for the first two-thirds of 2005 were down 7.6% when compared to the same period of last year.

For comparison, Mercedes Benz sold only 5,054 C Class units this month, down 8.6% from the 5,529 units sold last August. YTD sales of the C Class were down 18.3% for the first 8 months of 2005.

Please note that I am report only the United States sales data.

Interesting how the E46 Cabrios are holding their own and actually up while the Coupé is considerably down which makes sense as it approaches the end of its cycle.

It's summer? Maybe cab sales will start to drop as the weather gets colder?

I still suspect BMW's doing something to pad the #'s ... what that is I don't know. Or else my part of the country must suddenly have gotten 3 series phobia, because I'm still at 4 e90 sightings total. And I live close to Microsoft main campus, I'm used to seeing 10 high end cars for every camry or accord. I can't turn without seeing an e60, but no e90's in sight.

Thanks Fred... The e90 sedan sales appear to be (surprisingly) eclipsing the e46 sedan sales, in both the 325i and 330i sales. It looks like there's a great chance of exceeding the best total annual sales, if the sales keep up at this rate.

I'm very surprised that I don't see more of them on the roads though, looking at these numbers... the e90 330i already is ahead of the best YTD 330i sales, and it's only been sold here for 3 months out of 8.

Oblu, I drive through Kirkland and Redmond sometimes but I'm mostly in Bellevue.

Keep an eye out for my 330i Arctic

Today I saw the second 330 since I got to WA 2 months ago, last one was regular, this one has ZSP. It was SG. Saw it near Safeco Field. I've also seen maybe 4 325's.
