as a bmw owner for 1 1/2 year 5 series. i found this great site. i see everycar has . e36 and all these code names any way for a new guy to find out what's what. i am in the market for a 3- or 5 series 95-99 as i just turned my lease car in.

Check out Wikipedia. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bmw The model codes are towards the bottom. Plus there is a nice history of BMW.

You might be the only one. There is no E50 AFAIK.
