 JUST ORDERED MY 330xi

Hi,

I have just placed my order for a 330xi. The due date is second week in November.

I have specced the car with the M Sports Pack, option (0337). The wheels included in this pack are (02ME) Light Alloy wheels with double spoke 94M style with different size tyres (translated from Spanish).

My question is: What size are these wheels 18" or 19" and what size are the tyres? Will they be the **** run-flat ones as fitted to my girl's Cooper 'S'. I hate these tyres!

The salesperson had no info on this pack as it is 'so new' for Spain.

Also, I opted as a last minute thing for the Xi as it is 4 wheel drive. I have always had AUDI quattro vehicles and I had no idea BMW were offering this model. It is not in any of the catalogues.

Have I made a mistake in buying this model as it saps a some of the power.

I am used to a 285 Bhp Audi TT Quattro Coupe.

I hope someone can shed some light on this for me.

Cheers,

Chay

We also ordered a 330xi. Expect the impact on performance to be minimal. However, not sure is acquiring the sport package on this car would be worth it. I would think that for an all wheel drive vehicle, all-season tires would be required. Performance tires just won't cut it in snow with chains.

Is allwheel drive required for Spain - excuse my ignorance
What else do you get with the M Sports pack?

Well I haven't chosen the 4WD system because of snow! Have a look on a map and you will see where Marbella is We are just a swim away from North Africa.

I thought it would be a better handling machine. I wanted an EVO 9 but the missus said it was a hooligan's car. So I opted for something more refined and grown-up.

I like the way 4WD cars handle that's all. If I want to off-road I have a Land Rover for that!

Should I change my order for the rear wheel drive version and stick to BMW legendary ass-out handling? I wonder if BMW will mind?

Anybody who knows how to drive hard will know run flats are for girls who can't change wheels when they get a puncture!

Pirelli tried it back in the 70's with their Donovo tyre. It sucked then and it sucks now!

BTW the M Pack includes M Seats in Alcantara/ Leather, M Steering Wheel, M Gear knob, M doorstep trims, M bodykit, M suspension, M wheels, etc.

Cheers,

Chay
