It's not in my regular manual, there was a separate manual for phone function. Check with your dealer if you didn't get one.
Basically, you put your phone in "find me" mode, then put your car BT in search mode. When (if) it finds your phone, you put a pin in your car BT, then the same pin in your phone. It went pretty easily for me. Of course you'll want to make sure your phone is supported - bmwusa has a file with supported phones.
Good luck.

Good luck. | Thanks a lot 'mc68386' - but where is the car BT button?? is it on the steering wheel? I am guessing that it will show on the Nav that it has detected a phone (or is it just a beep/noise)??

Nav is a separate function (using same 640x200 display of course).

Oh, and you can always put the letter "e" after a letter requiring an umlaut, such as "schoen" instead of schön.
