Navi on the 3
HI guys...question on the iDrive in the BMW...
So I was at the dealer yesterday, and asking functions about the iDrive in the new 3...and he couldnt tell me (he didnt know)....so here I am....
In the 3's iDrive:-
1.) Is there a method or a way to directly look for certain things that are closest to where I am (i.e. nearest gas Station, nearest Taco Bell, nearest Parking Garage)? (could someone take pictures)
2.) Same as above, but near my final destination?
3.) If I have the radio/cd/mp3 on AUX on and listening to music, and the navigation wants to say something, does it pause, or turn down the music?? What about if I am using the bluetooth phone function???

1.) Yes there is a section called Information, with things like hotels, shops etc.
2.) You can choose information on a place (ie town, suburb etc.) or your current location.
3.) Whenever IDrive says something it makes the volume from: Radio, CD, TV or Aux softer so that you can just hear the music in the background. It doesnt make the phone volume softer but still "says" the instruction loud the caller who phones you also hears the voice instruction. Note the voice can be muted!

Is there a way to see the gas station when you click the i button on the map... for me only restaurants and sightseeing locations appear.

Just wondered, does the sat nav woman's voice have an American, English or German accent?
Here in Europe the lady's voice on Mercs is bloody annoying. I wonder if BMW offer different voices?
It would be quite cool to have a sexy Russian bird telling you what to do

For US cars, the Nav lady has an American accent. The language and accent are determined by the location where the cars are built for.
