I need some help here guys. Has anybody out there done a European delivery in Canada. The 2 dealers i have spoken too here in Edmonton do not know much about the savings, if any. I would love to do this for a 2006 330XI. But i also would like to save some money by doing this. According to our neighbours to the south they save at least 7% on the MSRP. If anybody has any info or knows of somebody who has done it please post.
Thanks PWB.

There is a European delivery plan in Canada, but it does not apear to be as good as the one in the USA. I have the paperwork from the dealer and ther seems to be a lot of smoke and mirrors.

PWB. | From posts I have seen here on BF the initial pricing in Canada for ED would lead you to believe that Canadian ED is better than the US. Unfortunately in Canada ED is not a turnkey deal, 1 price pays everything. Our friends up North have out of pocket expenses such as ED insurance, import duties, etc. which leads to little if any savings. This was posted on the E90post.com board by Airboy in Calgary, AB: Quote: Received some pricing information from the dealership yesterday. The MSRP for European Delivery, or "Tourist Prcing", as it was listed are: 2006 325i with 6MT Canadian Retail $39,900 Tourist Pricing $36,700 2006 330i with 6MT Canadian Retail $47,500 Tourist Pricing $43,700 However, there are a lot of extra costs that the purchaser is responsible for and they are: -Import Duty of 6.1% $2238 for 325i $2666 for 330i -Car insurance while you're in Germany. The sample list that he showed me ranged from $240 to $620 (1 month) for a 3 series in 2002 (I think it was 2002) -Shipping from Europe to Canada. The rates are different, depending on your drop-off point in Europe. The breakdown: Inland Freight to port 0-$1150. Munich is $250, Naples (Italy) is $1150 European port handling $240 Marine Insurance $215 Ocean Freight $270 Canadian Broakerage $180 Port of Halifax Terminal and Loading Charges $60 Agriculture Canada Inspection $30 Onward Rail Transport $800 |
