 Aftermarket wheels for 325i non-sport

Any suggestions of reasonably priced wheel/tire upgrades for the E90? Prefer 18" wheels most likely, but no bigger. I get the impression you could go with a staggered setup of 8.5" width in rear, 8" in front, like the stock sport pkg wheels, and have no problems. Tire size is less clear. Tire rack is saying 225/40/18 on those wheels, which seems a little narrow for the rears. I have that size on a Saab 9-3 SS and it definitely could have gone up a size or two even though they claimed it would be a problem on them. Would it be safe to assume that one could go up to the 255mm width that is on OEM BMW wheels, assuming your new wheels had the same offset, and not run into problems? Also not a fan of buying wheels locally, in the past they have tried hard to steer me into wheels they happen to carry in stock or make more on, rather than what I want. I also need to minimize down time with car, since I am very busy.

Reasons for changing wheels are:

1. cosmetic, I think the car looks better with more rubber and a wider stance.
2. lateral grip and braking
3. not a fan of run flats and will be buying a spare for the trunk anyway. (long expressway trips in the middle of nowhere regularly)

So far I have come up with the following:

1. Various BBS copy "mesh" wheels in widths from 9" to 8", staggered or not. (TSW, Beyern, ASA)
2. TSW "montage" 5 spoke wheel, 18x8 with 245/40/18 tires. Discounttiredirect shows them as fitting, but the speedo error would be + 3.3% which concerns me.
3. Buying OEM BMW sport pkg wheels online and having tires put on locally. Cost would be about $800 more than the above options. Not that in love with the styles in the first place.

Anyone have photos of wheel upgrades they've done?

Check the wheels/tires and photo gallery at e90post.com, plenty of options and pics there. Good luck, ure gonna need at least an 18" wheel cause the e90 makes wheels look small.
