 A Maintenance Warning Already?

I have just 600 miles on my 330i. I used it all day today, stopping and starting at least 5 times. When I left a store this afternoon, a warning came up when I started the engine, telling me my brake pads were worn and needed replacing. Huh? In 600 miles?

Has anyone else experienced false alarms on newly delivered vehicles?

Looks like your in for some new pads.....or atleast a reset.

Probably just a bad brake sensor. $15 part which will be covered under warranty.

Thanks, all. To close the loop on this, I went to the dealership today and had them check it out. Turns out the brake pad sensor fell off. Because the car is new, they have to order the part. But they taped up the two wires to the sensor so it wouldn't give me the constant warning. Not a bad quick-fix.

It fell off? Wow.. at least it's good to hear it's a minor fix!

That doesn't give a person a warm cozy feeling, "It just fell off" Nothing should "fall off" a brand new car. I hope nothing "just falls off" my new car when I get it.
