BMW Financial Services Lease Assumption Q

I am 8 months into a 36 month lease on a 2006 330i (payments of $590 incl'd tax, and with 7700 miles on the odometer with a 15K/yr max) and would like to look into reassigning my lease to someone. I have searched this forum (and other websites) and have a remaining question that I would greatly appreciate if anyone could bring some light upon:

- Am I, as the original lessee, still liable even after the lease is reassigned? (I have seen conflicting answers to this one)

I leased it in June 06 and am now kicking myself for not waiting for the 335i coupe (a situation which I would like to rectify w/o having the dealer take more $$$ than is possible).

Again, any info would be appreciated. Thanks guys and gals!

The person assuming the lease would have to qualify through BMWFS. Assuming that they were approved and pay the transfer fee (which you can do if you want) then they become the leasee, have the contract with BMWFS and are responsible for the vehicle at turn in.

Good luck with that $590 payment (wow!).

you could go to swapalease.com. but good luck with the payment. my 5 was $531 month. no one will touch that car there for that. but if you offered say$1500 incentive or whatever in took to get the payment to mid-high 400's someone will take it over. but these guy's are sharp. they all want something for nothing...it all depends how bad you want out. also you cannot get out in the last 90 day's with bmw...$ 450 fee to transfer + return fee about $300 or so check you contract

giving $1500 incentive will let you get the payment down to $403 so maybe do 1000.00 incentive = 470.00 moth @ that figure you wont have to many takers with 8 month's left . i think if you list it on swap a lease for about $450 you will sell it quick. also call bmw after it assumed unless you done fraud or something. its their car. not your anymore. call to make sure

I have heard that BMW financial will sometimes let you out of a lease early - If you'll be leasing something else - They may want some cash too, but it doesen't hurt to find out!!
