Apparently they have several regulatory hurdles to clear - the FCC's rule explicitly preventing such a merger, for one - but there is a significant chance it will happen anyway.
I think this sucks - consumers will be worse off if there's no competition in that market. I give them three years before they start running commercials.

Don't worry...SIRI will also rise. Investors in both companies have been waiting for this merger for many many months. The current stock prices reflects investor frustration prior to the recent merger announcement.
