ABS light on... dang.
I did a search on ABS and seemed to find quite a few threads talking about ABS lights coming on on older 3 series and 5 series. But not much on the E90.
Some of you probably knew from my old posts that when I took delivery of my car, my nav was not working (which turned out to be the wrong DVD disc) and the ABS light came on. Dealer checked it and said maybe the sensor was too sensitive.
No biggie.
After several weeks of driving this car, I have had 7 incidents where the ABS control message comes on, asking me to drive carefully. Most of the time, all I do is shut the engine off, take out the key, and re-start engines. The ABS lights will then go off.
Well, not today. This time the ABS light stayed on. Even getting in and out of the car and driving around the city all day. So what could possibly be wrong? Could it be an indication that something is seriously wrong my ABS or something less serious like a faulty sensor?
Freakin' me out a bit..

I don't know if my mind is playing tricks on me because I see the brake indicator on (due to ABS failure), but acceleration feels sluggish and car feels like a ton of bricks.
Anyway, went to see the dealer for service today. Just so happened they were experiencing black outs (too hot, everybody switched on their AC at the same time :confused2 ) and all the tech crew went home. So I have to bring it in another time. When I got back into the car, the ABS light went off... WTF?? This is really annoying the heck out of me... I will get to the bottom of this. will update when I do get the car into service.

Just got back from overseas trip, did not read your reply. Anyway, to update you all on the situation. I finally was able to swing by my dealership to look into my problem. The results of their findings is: The control module for DSC that governs the ABS brakes is kaput. They have to get a replacement from Germany.. ouchie. From a car that's barely 2 months old. Then again, they did have the same ABS light problem and have to delay releasing the car to me originally. So I suspect must be a pre-existing problem.
The car will be in the shop for 7~10 days. Meanwhile, they gave me a 325i station wagon to drive around. Not sure which model year, but my guess is 2004 or 2005. Anyway, the loaner car is zippy and I am enjoying it. Just wished I have my own car back since I am up for a major drive up to SF this weekend, coz the nav sure would come in handy..
