Premium Package or Wheels?
I am looking at a 325i Arctic/Black/Aluminum with the following options definitely:
Sport Package Rear Fold Down seats Xenon Comfort Access Rear Deck Spoiler
What I am debating is getting either the Premium Package OR the 18" Radial Spoke (Style 196) wheels (see attached).
If I don't get the Premium Package, I still would get the Power Seats (+$995) but I would not get leather, Bluetooth, folding/dimming mirrors, and garage door opener. I don't know if I would miss those things or not?
What I would get would be the wheels that I have attached below (one is a real picture and the other is a photoshop) along with much better performance tires than what comes with the 325 sport package. The whole deal is either $3,550 from BMW minus however much I can sell the 17" wheels and tires for (~$700?) OR I can buy the wheels separately from www.bmwwheels.com and the tires from www.tirerack.com and that would be $2,562 minus the stock wheels/tires and I could have someone put them on for free since my boyfriend works at Champion Audi.
So, the final prices are (for the wheels I am including -700 for current wheels/tires):
Premium Package: $38,200 Wheels from BMW: $39,200 Wheels from online: $38,212
If I did want the Bluetooth, it is +$750 on the last two (basically cancelling out profit from wheels/tires) so I am pondering that as well.
Either way I am wondering if this whole thing is worth it to get wheels or if I should just stick with the premium package and be happy with medicore wheels.
Ugh I didn't mean to make this so confusing for you guys! I am sure many of you have experienced my pain!

I had the same dilama, and i don't even have SP. However, i ended up not getting the wheels since I thought that at one point in the future I will HAVE to change my tiers, and that would be a good time to change my rims if I wanted to at the time. This way I can atlease use the tiers that I paid for. Selling the stock wheels is a losing deal, especially since I will do ED and by the time the car is here the tiers will have ~2500 miles on them.
Another point I thought of was that the PP items are stuff that I use/see all this time while I'm in the car. And while the wheels makes the car looks cooler from the outside, mostly when its stoping, then its just for bragging. And I have enough bragging with car itself.
So... bottom line, I would go for the PP and then change the wheels if I feel like it when the time comes to change the tiers..
My 2 cents..

| | Reply » Premium Package or Wheels? | personally get the premuim package now and save up alittle and then get the wheels. Premuim package will be much better for the resale and wheels can be done whenever the Premuim package cant. Chris

| | Reply » Premium Package or Wheels? | $40,545 for a 330 with everything I want minus premium and the wheels. But the sport package gives it 18" wheels anways. Hmm, I guess that is something to consider but I am not sure. I haven't test driven the 330, only the 325.
edit: Also, I was told that I would have more bargaining leverage with a 330, don't know the truth in that though.
