thanks~ | I agree...if you can stand the interior, turbo lag, and rough ride...Go for the EVO MR. On the other hand, the EVO 9 is right around the corner, so if you're serious, wait for the 9.

Yea, that's what I find most irritating. It's all great and everything, just that the interior is such a knock off...
I saw the 9 brochure, it's all the same with the 8. I don't like too much on the 9's styling.

thanks~ | Two totally different beasts. The Evo is faster, but the 330i is more comfortable, more reliable, and looks better to most people so will probably have a better resale value in a few years. Its a question of personal taste, so as always, take both on long test drives and ask yourself which you like better. For me, speed was not the number one necessity, so I ruled out the speed-over-everything-else cars such as STI, Evo, SRT-4, and focused on something with a good ride-handling balance and adequate (for my needs) acceleration.

In that case, grab a great deal that many mitsu dealer are doing on the 8s. I can't stress what a great car the EVO is for the money!
I know what most people on this board will say, but if you really love the car and can stand some of the rough edges, why not! Especially if you're young, not many cars can match the EVO at that price point. I had an EVO 6 in Hong Kong and I had more fun drivng that than my 996 Turbo, M5, E55, etc...Just great fun!

$2000 off the EVO 8, that's a much better buy than the EVO 9, with just 5 more hp and a new body kit (uglier, imo). I'd probably just get the EVO VIII instead of the MR, not sure it's worth the extra money for the minimal improvements.
Downers will be the dealership, clutches going in 5k if you abuse it, and the dealer not covering it, and the rough ride.
