Fellow Bimmer lovers,
I am finally a proud owner of a brand new 2006 BMW 325i!!
I had been waiting for this day for over 10 years and it was a tremendous joy getting those keys for the first time and (Also dealership made sure that they make it a big deal as they knew this was my first Bimmer).
I had a loaner for about a week which was a 2005 325/sports with about 7k miles on it. This turned out great as I had something to comparable to judge against my new ride with as I was upgrading from a 2000 Camry!!
The drive from the dealership was about 65 miles which gave me enough time to form an opinion! Here is what I think so far.
-When I first looked at it – It gave me goose bumps! I think this is the nest looking BMW on the road today!!
-I loved the Black/Burl interior combination which I had never seen before as most black interior are coming with Aluminum
-The seats felt more comfortable then the E46 and so interior more refined, classy and roomy!
-The quality of the leatherette is wonderful and I am glad I did not pay extra for leather. My Camry has leather.
-The ride is much quieter and a much more refined then the E46. Acceleration is very smooth and instant for when need it.
-The car handles extremely well. Soft and predictable when driving normally and tight and responsive when you want to get a little aggressive. (Perfect for daily commuter like myself!!)
-A/C felt much cooler and less noisy then the E46 and the rear vents is a great improvement!!
-The overall placement of things is excellent where everything seems to be well thought of and yes even the cup holders!!!
-I did not like the cup holders but that’s the only place I would put them for making them most functional. The E46 and my Camry has them between the gear and the armrest with is a terrible place to put your drink IMO!!
-The older gentleman named john (been with BMW for longer then I have been alive) Gave me some pointer on how to best take care of the car. He recommended in between oil changes every 5 to 6K miles. The oil filter is right on the top and it should be a breeze doing it!
There you have it! I am in love with this beautiful piece of craftsmanship! It is now safe to say that I have now onwed the best car ever made and am lucky to be a part of this legacy!!
Cheer!!
