I just got the call from my dealer and my baby has arrived on the island. We have put down the usual $500.00 for the order, but I am not sure how to negotiate the final deal. Can anyone offer some advise on how to obtain the best deal in such a remote market. Any information on for the Hawaiian market would be appreciated.

Now you're in a position where they've got your new car, and if you really want it they can make you pay all the money for it.

Yup.... he is right, you are actually negotiating the deal backwards.....
Always get everything in writing, before the deposit is made and the car is ordered.

A: Find out what people are actually paying in Hawaii. Edmund's "Price Paid" forum can be a useful source. B: If you want a fair deal, I'm afraid your only recourse is to walk away and start over.

Oh well. Thanks for all of the opinions. The brief talk I have had with the dealer was MSRP. Considering they are the only dealer in the state and shipping the car from the mainland will cost over $1K++, I will just be happy I am enjoying my first BMW. Compared to the other island car dealers who negotiate from MSRP+Dealer Add-on of $5K for a Ford. I think MSRP is okay. It is one of the prices I am willing to pay to live here in paradise. Again, thanks for the advice.
